Carnival Jubilee Voted Best New Cruise Ship of 2023

During our cruise, we utilized a Wi-Fi package, and Carnival seems to have some of the best internet connections that work well around the whole ship, even in your cabin. My wife and I quickly connected two devices with our package and never lost service. On Deck 6, the Golden Jubilee features artwork, memorabilia, and original pieces from Carnival’s earlier vessels perfectly incorporated throughout the space, bringing Carnival’s 50 years of fun full circle. We loved the reproduction of blueprints depicting the evolution of Carnival’s Fun Ships, including some hand-drawn designs by world-renowned architect Joe Farcus in the ceiling. The stateroom features USB ports on both sides of the bed and LED reading lamps.

Carnival Celebration Review, Carnival’s Incredible New Ship

The area was revamped and renamed Celebration Central area on this ship, decorated with color-changing lights designed to look like confetti. Guest services and shore excursions have been moved out of this central area to a more out-of-the-way spot on Deck 8 aft. As a professional traveler, it's not a huge surprise that one of my favorite public areas on the ship is the travel-themed The Gateway.

Of course you'll be back here throughout your cruise, taking a break with a nice cup of coffee or a menu of great food choices at JavaBlue™ CafĂ©, enjoying performances up on stage, or killing time fabulously at the Grand View Bar. Just wait until the sun goes down and the space slips into evening dress, transforming into an amazing show venue after dark! In Grand Central you're never far from great dining spots like Bonsai Sushi™ and Bonsai Teppanyaki™, plus feel-good entertainment like Piano Bar 88™ and The Punchliner Comedy Club™.

Carnival Ship Rescues 27 People Adrift at Sea in the Caribbean

It's tied with Carnival Celebration for the title of the largest ship in Carnival's fleet. They scrapped many of their older ships in order to save money and focus on newer and more profitable ships after the Covid-19 pandemic shutdown. This ship entered service in 2000 as the former Destiny Class ship named the Carnival Victory. In 2021, the Carnival Victory received a massive transformation that resulted in it being renamed and reclassified as a Sunshine Class ship. This ship originally entered service in 1999 as the former Destiny Class ship named the Carnival Triumph.

What will Carnival Celebration be like on board?

So I believe they will have to offer tickets to this venue so it can be used in a more organized manner in the future. I applaud Carnival for using this space to its fullest, but it may have been too much of a good thing in this small space, and I hope they will utilize the larger seating theater for the high-demand shows in the future. This area wasn’t designed to seat enough guests for their current high-demand shows.

The suggested attire for women on such nights is cocktail dresses, pantsuits, elegant skirts and blouses. Passengers who wish to avoid dressing up can enjoy dinner in any of the casual eateries aboard. Through at least April 2026, Carnival Jubilee offers two seven-night Western Caribbean itineraries out of its Galveston home port on a regular rotation.

CARNIVAL CELEBRATION: GREAT FUN TOGETHER, ALL POWERED BY LNG

The Ultimate Playground encompasses an aqua park and the ship’s Sports Square. Passengers who stay in the Havana Experience access the private area via keycard and have their own personal lounge, which feels similar to the Havana Bar. They also have a private pool area and bar, with exclusive entertainment. Being onboard Carnival’s newest ship, Carnival Jubilee, has me thinking of that first trip and how much has changed about the cruise experience over the years. Watching live music during the cruise, up close from string trios, piano players, full rock bands, and more, makes a Carnival Cruise extra special.

On Carnival Jubilee, the Lido Marketplace on Deck 16 is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, but I found it largely uninspired and lacking in variety. The French toast I had for breakfast and the mahi mahi I had for dinner were tasty, but there are definitely better no-charge venues on board. In my experience, waiters were diligent in asking about dietary requirements and restrictions. However, it was disappointing to see that many menus weren't marked with specific options for vegetarians, vegans and people who can't eat gluten. Excellent added-fee options include steak, seafood and teppanyaki, which might be worth trying if you're celebrating a special occasion or feeling like a splurge.

Regent Seven Seas Grandeur builds on luxury of 2 sister cruise ships

The majority of Carnival’s ships offer cruises to the Caribbean and Bahamas that range from three days to over a week. A few vessels are based on the West Coast as well as a couple in Australia. The ship had a tiny fitness center – more like a closet – that I remember visiting a couple of times, but otherwise, onboard time was split between soaking up sun, eating or watching the shows in the theater. I’m struck by how similar Grand Central is to what’s offered on AIDA, a German cruise line (owned by Carnival Corporation) that appeals to families.

Built in 2003, the ship has a 2,980-guest passenger capacity based on double occupancy. The highly-anticipated Carnival Jubilee, now the cruise line’s flagship, embarked on her inaugural cruise on December 23, 2023, from her homeport of Galveston, Texas. The ship is sailing 7-night Western Caribbean cruises with calls at Roatan, Honduras, and Costa Maya and Cozumel, Mexico. It was a very entertaining and informative class from start to finish. Knowing the different ingredients and cooking techniques that made the menu items complete was delightful. The Tabasco Chef class is located on the second floor of the prestigious Blu by Dolphinaris facility.

However, the service was generally excellent, with an exceedingly friendly crew. When Carnival Cruise Line's Carnival Jubilee debuted in December 2023, it became the third ship in the line's Excel Class, closely mimicking sister ships Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration. Although there are more similarities than differences among the three, Carnival has still found a way to make Carnival Jubilee innovative and fun by tweaking a few of the offerings. This vessel was first put into service in 1996 under the name Carnival Destiny, and was the inaugural ship of the Destiny Class.

One of the best ways Carnival provides value to its customers is through its food offerings. Complimentary dining abounds on Carnival Jubilee, and the variety of cuisines is impressive. You'll find more free options on Carnival ships than on just about any other fleet's vessels, and they're actually tasty. It's entirely possible to eat only food that's included in the cruise fare and not feel like you're missing out. Fully accessible rooms are stair-free, flat-threshold cabins, which offer wider (32-inch) doorways, turning space and bathrooms equipped with grab bars and shower seats. Excel Suites, Carnival Jubilee's highest-level accommodations, receive all standard suite perks plus additional ones.

Give me one or two pina coladas on a weeklong cruise, and I'm good to go. However, the massively creative options on the menus at both the Golden Mermaid and Dr. Inks, Ph.D., bars are absolutely worth a shoutout. Other venues in the area include the Marina Bar for cocktails and coffee, complimentary Italian restaurant Cucina del Capitano and for-fee seafood eatery Rudi's Seagrill, created by food pop artist chef Rudi Sodamin. On the wall above Dr. Inks, window-shaped screens provide a show for anyone passing through the length of the Currents promenade area. Programming rotates between underwater adventures, nature scenes and even artwork produced by passengers and kids from St. Jude's Children's Hospital. This meant it wasn't at capacity, but it still felt loud and crowded, and often was fraught with lines.

Everyone is very passionate and professional about offering guests a unique, safe, and enjoyable vacation experience onboard. On embarkation day, we boarded the new Carnival Celebration at Carnival Cruise Line’s newly remodeled Terminal F at Port Miami. This beautiful terminal is now enlarged and designed to fit the larger Excel class ships like Carnival Mardi Gras and Carnival Celebration. This would be my first cruise aboard one of Carnival Cruise Line’s new Excel Class ships. I had only been able to have a brief media visit preview for a day aboard Carnival’s Mardi Gras before her inaugural cruise.
